How do you move a group of 12 around Muskoka?
Book one Executive Sprinter: a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (or similar) carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, with a fixed all-inclusive fare shown in the booker before you pay. For seven passengers with limited luggage, the Jet Sprinter Executive seats seven and carries five large bags. Larger groups use two vehicles or a coach of 20 to 56 seats on request.
A Sprinter van in Muskoka solves a problem that a fleet of rental cars never does: everyone arrives at the same time and in the same mood. The vehicle has a high roof and a wide aisle, 12 seats, and a space for 12 bags. It is the practical answer for a golf weekend, a shared cottage, a stag or hen party that does not need a party bus, wedding guests moving between a church and a reception, a team on a day out, and any group that is too big for an SUV and too small for a coach.
MuskokaLimousineServices.com dispatches these vans from the pickup you name to the drop-off you name, anywhere in Muskoka and across Ontario. The rest of this page covers seats, bags, timing, and the points where another vehicle makes more sense.
Two Sprinters, two jobs
Our booker offers two Sprinter classes, and they are not interchangeable.
| Class | Passengers | Bags | Designed for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) | up to 12 | 12 | Groups with luggage: families, golf parties, wedding guests |
| Jet Sprinter Executive | up to 7 | 5 large | Small senior groups, working in comfort with carry-ons |
The Executive Sprinter is the workhorse. The Jet Sprinter Executive has fewer seats and less luggage space because the cabin is laid out for comfort, not capacity, so it suits a leadership team, a film crew's principals or a small wedding party that wants the cabin to feel like a lounge. Neither is a party bus. For nights out with music and room to stand, see the party bus and stretch limo page.
The bag arithmetic that decides everything
A vehicle fills up on luggage before it fills up on seats. The number to watch is bags per person.
- Twelve people, one suitcase each: one Executive Sprinter, exactly full.
- Twelve people, a suitcase and a backpack each: that is 24 pieces. Use two vehicles or send a Business SUV alongside, which carries six passengers and six bags.
- Eight golfers with golf bags and suitcases: the Sprinter's 12 bag spaces are exceeded by 16 pieces. Two vehicles, or a Sprinter plus a Business SUV. The golf transportation page works through this.
- Ten wedding guests, dressed for the day with small bags: an Executive Sprinter, with room to spare.
State bag counts honestly in the booker. A booking that says "12 passengers, 12 bags" is a booking for exactly one Sprinter; one that is honest about 20 pieces is a booking that will arrive in the right vehicles.
Distances and times for common group runs
Rounded road distances from a route planner, with typical off-peak times. Groups tend to travel on Fridays and Sundays, so the last column is the one to plan around.
| Run | Road distance | Typical off-peak | Summer Friday or holiday Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pearson to Gravenhurst | about 170 km | 2 h to 2 h 15 | allow 3 h 30 |
| Pearson to Bracebridge | about 185 km | 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 | allow 3 h 45 |
| Pearson to Huntsville | about 220 km | 2 h 50 to 3 h 10 | allow 4 h 30 |
| Pearson to Casino Rama | about 140 km | 1 h 50 to 2 h | allow 2 h 45 |
| Gravenhurst to Minett (Lake Rosseau) | about 60 km | 1 h 15 | allow 1 h 30 |
| Bracebridge to Casino Rama | about 50 km | 55 min | allow 1 h 15 |
The routes follow Highway 400 and Highway 11, with the split at Barrie shown in Discover Muskoka's directions from Toronto. Our routes hub and the Pearson page carry the same trip by exit.
Six groups that book a Sprinter
The golf weekend. Eight to twelve friends, a tee time on Saturday and another on Sunday. One Sprinter takes them from the airport to the first resort, to the course and back, and out for dinner. See golf transportation for bag limits.
The shared cottage. Three families split a rental on Lake Muskoka. A Sprinter from Pearson is cheaper in effort than three rental cars and one parking problem. The cottage transfers page covers groceries and fire-number addresses.
The stag or hen weekend. A group of ten who want a quiet ride, not a nightclub. The Sprinter carries them to the venue with their bags, and a second booking takes them to dinner.
Wedding guests. A shuttle between a hotel in Bracebridge and a ceremony on a lake, then on to the reception. The Muskoka wedding limo page and the wedding transportation planning guide set out the timing.
The family reunion. Grandparents, parents and children landing on different flights. Waves of up to 12 from the airport; the booker supports a seat for children, as described on the child seats and family travel page.
The day out. A group touring local sights: a boat cruise, a tasting, a festival. A single vehicle by the hour covers all of it, and the brewery and winery tours page is one example.
Coaches for 20 to 56 passengers
When the group is bigger than a Sprinter, we arrange coaches with 20 to 56 seats on request. Availability and the vehicle are confirmed at booking, not guaranteed in advance. A coach is the right tool for conference attendees, a wedding with a large guest list, or a sports team. It is the wrong tool for a mid-sized group that needs to go to two different addresses, because a coach is slow to turn around on cottage roads.
For a group of 25, two Sprinters and a Business SUV can be easier to place than a coach, and it lets the party split at a fork in the road. A coach is better for a single drop-off at a resort entrance. Talk it through with the reservations desk; our contact page has the options.
Group transportation compared with the alternatives
| Mode | Door-to-door, Pearson to Gravenhurst | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sprinter | About 2 h to 2 h 15 | Fixed fare via booker | 12 bags | Groups of 7 to 12, shared bags |
| Two SUVs | About 2 h to 2 h 15 | Fixed fare via booker | 12 bags in total | Groups that split destinations |
| Ontario Northland bus | See the operator's timetable | Fares on ontarionorthland.ca | One 23 kg bag free, two more at $15 each | A solo traveller |
| Landline coach to Muskoka Airport | 1 h 45 to 2 h 15 | Sold as an Air Canada itinerary | Airline baggage rules | Individuals on an Air Canada ticket |
| Corridor 11 local bus | Town to town, weekdays | Cash fares posted by the District | No luggage policy stated | Short local hops, one person |
| Rental cars | About 2 h off-peak | Rental, fuel, parking for each car | Each boot | Groups wanting their own cars at the lake |
Ontario Northland's baggage rules show how fast group luggage becomes a problem on a bus: one checked piece free, two more at $15 each, as of 2026. The District of Muskoka's Corridor 11 bus serves Huntsville, Port Sydney, Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Kilworthy, Washago and Orillia on weekdays, which is useful for a local errand, not for a group arriving with cases. Air Canada's Landline coach runs between Pearson and Muskoka Airport, but only the airport legs.
The bus is genuinely the better choice if you are one person with one bag. The Sprinter wins from three travellers upward, when bags are shared, when there is a connecting flight after the last bus, and when everyone should arrive together at a door, not a bus stop.
Timing a group pickup
Groups are late in predictable ways, and the plan should absorb it.
- Waiting. Airport pickups track the flight and include free waiting: 60 minutes after international landings, 30 after domestic and 15 minutes on other pickups. A group of 12 collecting bags is closer to 45 minutes than 20.
- Meet and greet. The booker offers it inside arrivals, with a name board, so a group of 12 finds one person, not twelve exits.
- Multiple flights. A wave that straddles two landings should fit inside the free waiting window. If it does not, split into two vehicles.
- The last stop. Plan the grocery or LCBO stop before the lake road, not after, and add it as an extra stop on the same booking.
When two vehicles beat one
A single Sprinter is the neat answer, and it is not always the right one. Two vehicles are the better plan in four situations.
- The group is 13 or more. There is no way around the seat count, and two Sprinters keep everybody in one convoy.
- The bags outnumber the seats. Twelve passengers with 20 pieces will not fit the Executive Sprinter's 12 bag spaces, so an SUV travels alongside with the overflow.
- Destinations differ. Half the party is going to a resort in Minett and half to a cottage near Port Carling. Splitting at the airport spares one half a long detour.
- A senior guest wants a quieter ride. The couple of honour at a reunion, or a client at a retreat, sits in a Mercedes E / S-Class while the rest travel together. The two vehicles leave the airport at the same time and meet at the destination.
Whichever mix you choose, book it as linked bookings with the same pickup time and the same group name in a note with each booking, so the chauffeurs can find each other at the arrivals hall and keep the party together on the road.
How a Pearson group pickup actually goes
At Pearson, a group of 12 rarely clears arrivals together. The first people through are the carry-on travellers, the last are the ones still waiting at the carousel for a golf bag. Chauffeurs wait inside arrivals with a name board if you choose meet and greet, and they hold the group name, not twelve individual names. As soon as the last bag is on a trolley, the van loads in one pass and leaves. The free waiting window is generous for a domestic landing and more generous for an international one, so there is no need to rush the last traveller through. Plan on a full group taking noticeably longer to clear the terminal than a solo traveller, and add that to the drive.
Ontario 511 and the road
The free Ontario 511 service shows closures, construction and cameras, and it is worth a glance before a group of 12 sets out. Peak summer weekends add an hour or more on Highway 400 and Highway 11; the Highway 400 and 11 traffic guide lists the quiet windows.
Frequently asked questions
How many people fit in a Sprinter van?
An Executive Sprinter carries up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. The Jet Sprinter Executive carries up to 7 passengers and 5 large bags, with a cabin laid out for comfort. Both are Mercedes-Benz Sprinters or similar, and the model is confirmed at booking.
Can a Sprinter take luggage for all 12?
Yes, up to 12 bags. If your group has more than one piece each, book a second vehicle or add a Business SUV, which carries six passengers and six bags. State your real bag count in the booker so the right vehicles are assigned and nobody is left with a bag on the kerb.
Do you have coaches for larger groups?
Coaches with 20 to 56 seats are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. For groups of 13 to about 24, two Sprinters or a Sprinter plus an SUV is often easier to place on cottage roads than a coach, and lets the party split between two destinations.
Is a Sprinter the same as a party bus?
No. A Sprinter is a passenger van for moving people and bags. A party bus carries up to 14 and is laid out for a night out, but carries only 2 large bags. For celebrations, see the party bus and stretch limo page.
How much does a Sprinter cost in Muskoka?
This site shows no rates. Enter your pickup, drop-off, date and vehicle in the booker and it returns one fixed, all-in total before you pay, with HST already included in that figure.
Can the Sprinter pick us up at several addresses?
Yes. Add each address as a stop on a single booking, or use hourly hire for a looser schedule, and give the chauffeur the order of stops in a note with the booking. Multi-stop and return trips share one fixed fare, shown in the booker before you pay.
Is there a bus from Muskoka to Toronto for a group?
Ontario Northland runs coaches between Toronto and Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville, but luggage is limited to one free bag per person and the stops are fixed. A private Sprinter picks up and drops off at your door, which is why groups choose it.
What is the cancellation policy for a group booking?
Counted from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%. Peak dates, such as long weekends and big weddings, may carry a different deadline, printed on the confirmation.
