People search for "flights to Muskoka" and "Muskoka airport" thousands of times a month, and the honest answer is more complicated than a booking button. MuskokaLimousineServices.com is a pre-booked chauffeur service rather than an airline, but we meet passengers at every airport in this guide. Here is the map, with times and distances, and the places where a car is the right answer.
Is there an airport in Muskoka, and can you fly there?
Yes, Muskoka Airport (YQA) is in Gravenhurst, but no scheduled airline flies to it. It handles charters, private aircraft, air ambulance and government flights, and an Air Canada coach links it to Toronto Pearson. Most visitors fly into Pearson and cover the last 170 km by road.
The distinction matters. A traveller who types "flights to Muskoka" into a booking engine will usually be offered Toronto, because Toronto is where the airline network stops. The Muskoka District describes its airport as Transport Canada-certified, open around the clock, at 1011 Airport Road in Gravenhurst, used by business and leisure travellers, air ambulance and government agencies. Its page describes no scheduled jet timetable.
The five realistic ways to fly in
- Fly to Toronto Pearson, then a chauffeured car. The mainstream answer, about 170 km to Gravenhurst.
- Fly to Pearson, then the Air Canada Landline coach to Muskoka Airport. Two departures a day, for Air Canada customers.
- Fly to Billy Bishop or another Toronto-area airport, then a car or coach. Useful for some itineraries, and for private and charter aircraft.
- Charter or private aircraft to Muskoka Airport. Closest to the lakes; see the private jet and FBO page.
- Floatplane to a lake dock. Specialised, operator-dependent and weather-dependent.
Everything else, from buses to trains to the Northlander, is a way to cover the distance after the plane. Each of the five has a place, and the next sections explain who it suits.
Option one: Pearson and a chauffeured car
Toronto Pearson (YYZ) is Canada's largest airport and the gateway most Muskoka visitors use. From the arrivals hall, Highway 400 runs north to Barrie and Highway 11 continues to the lakes. The road distances below come from route planners and are rounded.
| From Pearson to | Distance | Off-peak time | Summer Friday afternoon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gravenhurst | about 170 km | 1 h 46 | up to 3 h 30 |
| Bracebridge | about 185 km | about 2 h | longer than the Gravenhurst figure |
| Huntsville | about 220 km | about 2 h 30 | longer again; check the traffic guide |
The route is simple. The difficulty is only that it is also everyone else's route. The highway traffic guide explains the peaks, and the Muskoka hub lists every town we serve. The Pearson page covers the terminals and meeting points, and the Toronto to Muskoka route page compares every mode, including those that skip the airport altogether.
Your chauffeur tracks the flight, waits 30 minutes free after a domestic landing and 60 after an international one, and can meet you inside arrivals with a name board if you ask for a meet and greet.
Option two: the Air Canada Landline coach
Air Canada has operated a Landline motorcoach service between Muskoka Airport and Pearson since 15 June 2026. The airline's announcement lists the timetable:
| Direction | Departs | Arrives |
|---|---|---|
| Pearson to Muskoka Airport | 08:00 | 10:00 |
| Pearson to Muskoka Airport | 19:15 | 21:15 |
| Muskoka Airport to Pearson | 05:00 | 06:45 |
| Muskoka Airport to Pearson | 15:00 | 17:15 |
The announcement describes the service for Air Canada customers, with check-in at the local airport, bags tagged through to the final destination, Wi-Fi and power outlets on board, and no additional charge for the coach itself. The Town of Gravenhurst adds that parking at Muskoka Airport is free until the end of 2026.
It is a good product for the person it was designed for: an Air Canada customer travelling with a normal suitcase, whose flight lands close to a departure. It has limits. It ends at the airport, not at a town, a resort or a dock. It runs twice a day. It does not carry passengers on other airlines. And the schedule means a mid-day landing at Pearson can face a long wait. If you take it, plan the last few kilometres in advance.
Option three: other Toronto-area airports
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, on the downtown waterfront, is Porter's home base in Toronto. The Billy Bishop page explains how pickups work there. For private aircraft and smaller carriers, Oshawa and Lake Simcoe Regional are sometimes better placed than Pearson; their pages are Oshawa and Lake Simcoe Regional. North of Muskoka, North Bay and Sudbury are northern gateways.
What happened to Porter's Muskoka flights?
Porter Airlines flew seasonal summer service between Billy Bishop and Muskoka Airport in 2019 and again in 2022, and, as far as public records show, did not resume it in 2023. We found no announced 2026 schedule. If you see an older article promising a half-hour flight from the island airport, treat it as history and check the airline's own site before you plan around it. Until a published timetable exists, Pearson is the safe plan.
Option four: charter and private aircraft
If you are chartering, ask the broker whether the aircraft can use the Muskoka Airport runway, which public references give as about 1,830 m (6,000 ft). A private flight into Gravenhurst puts you under 15 km from the lake of your choice, which can save most of the highway. The private jet and FBO page explains the car side, including FBO names, customs and the meeting point.
Option five: floatplanes
Public aviation directories list a good many water aerodromes on Lake Muskoka, in Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Port Carling and Bala. Many are private docks. A floatplane charter is an operator-led product, and only the operator can tell you where a given aircraft will land and whether the dock accepts guests. A car on land can meet you at a public road, a marina or the dock entrance. Read about marina and boat launch transfers for how that works.
Flying in from across Canada
Flight times to Toronto from the major cities are listed on schedule sites in ranges, and the pages below give each city's times, time-zone change and Ontario arrival plan.
| From | Non-stop to Toronto | Time difference | City page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vancouver | about 4 h 20 to 4 h 40 | 3 hours | Vancouver to Muskoka |
| Calgary | about 3 h 50 to 4 h | 2 hours | Calgary to Muskoka |
| Edmonton | about 3 h 40 to 3 h 55 | 2 hours | Edmonton to Muskoka |
| Winnipeg | about 2 h 25 to 2 h 35 | 1 hour | Winnipeg to Muskoka |
| Halifax | about 2 h 15 to 2 h 50 | Ontario is 1 hour behind | Halifax to Muskoka |
| Quebec City | about 1 h 30 to 1 h 35 | none | Quebec City to Muskoka |
For cities outside Ontario, the airport car at the origin end is supplied by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner from the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network. The same desk books and supports both ends.
From wheels-down to the road: what the last leg costs in time
Whatever you fly, plan for the hour after landing. Taxiing, the walk to the terminal, baggage reclaim and the meeting point routinely add 45 minutes or more at a large airport, and our own pickup planning uses that figure for a domestic arrival. Add the drive, and a flight that lands at 14:00 puts you in Gravenhurst at about 16:30 off-peak. Our airport transfers hub lists every airport we cover, and the guides hub has the rest of the planning material.
Winter changes the sums. Snow squalls off the lakes can slow Highway 11, and a flight that lands in sunshine at Pearson can meet a snow squall at Bracebridge. Plan a longer buffer from December to March, and watch conditions before you leave the airport.
Which option suits which traveller?
| Mode | Door-to-door from Pearson | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeured car | 1 h 46 off-peak to Gravenhurst | Fixed fare via booker | Bags per vehicle class | 3+ travellers, families, late flights |
| Air Canada Landline | set by 08:00 or 19:15 departure, plus a ride onward | Sold by Air Canada | Airline allowance | Air Canada customers travelling light |
| Ontario Northland coach | per the coach timetable | Set by Ontario Northland | One suitcase each | Solo travellers to a coach stop |
| FlixBus | Thursday to Monday | Set by FlixBus | One suitcase each | Solo travellers on those days |
| Northlander train | not yet running | Fares not announced | Rail rules | Check the guide |
Discover Muskoka lists the bus options. Ontario Northland coaches run from Toronto's Union Station and Yorkdale terminals and FlixBus runs on Thursday to Monday, with Pearson among its departure points. The Northlander has been proposed with stops at Washago, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville, but Ontario Northland says it has not launched. Our Northlander guide tracks the news.
The car costs more than a coach, and we say so. It wins when three or more people share it, when luggage includes cottage supplies, when children travel, when the flight lands late, when the last coach has gone and when your resort expects you at a particular hour.
A plan that works
Pick the flight that lands before the Friday rush or after it. Share the flight number and the destination with the desk. Ask your cottage host for the fire number, the numbered sign at the end of the driveway, and the dock arrangements. Check Ontario 511 before you leave the airport, and give yourself a buffer on the return. Book direct in the booker, which shows the fixed all-in fare for your pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay.

Can I fly Air Canada to Muskoka?
You can book the Landline coach from Pearson to Muskoka Airport with Air Canada, as part of a ticket. It leaves Pearson at 08:00 and 19:15. It is a coach, not a plane, and it ends at the airport rather than your destination.
Can I get a floatplane to Muskoka?
Floatplane charters operate from water aerodromes on Lake Muskoka and elsewhere, but only the operator can confirm where it lands and who it carries. A car can meet you at the dock entrance or nearest public road. Weather affects water flights.
How long is the drive from Pearson to Muskoka?
About 1 h 46 to Gravenhurst off-peak, 2 hours to Bracebridge and 2 h 30 to Huntsville. Summer Friday afternoons are the exception, when Gravenhurst can take 3 h 30 or more.
Will the Northlander train take me to Muskoka?
The Northlander has been proposed to return, with Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville among the stops. At the time of writing Ontario Northland says it has not launched and gives no start date. Do not plan a flight arrival around it yet.
Do you meet charter flights?
Yes. Give us the airport, the FBO or handler's name and the aircraft's tail number or flight identifier, and the chauffeur meets you at the agreed point. We work alongside your own security team if you have one.
