MuskokaLimousineServices.com provides pre-booked chauffeured transfers to Port Cunnington Lodge, the long-standing lakeside resort at 1679 Port Cunnington Road, Dwight, on Lake of Bays. It is about 253 km from Pearson, 78 km from Muskoka Airport and 33 km from Huntsville. That distance is the reason most guests choose to have a driver rather than a rental car. This page explains the route, the timing, what to do on arrival, and when something other than a limo makes more sense.
How do you get from Toronto Pearson to Port Cunnington Lodge?
Drive Highway 400 north to Highway 11, continue past Huntsville, then follow Highway 60 east to Dwight and the signs for Port Cunnington Road. It is about 253 km and 3 h 20 to 3 h 40 off-peak. A pre-booked chauffeur does the whole trip for one fixed fare, with your flight tracked.
Type the lodge's name or its Port Cunnington Road address as the drop-off. Choose your vehicle, add child seats or a stop for supplies if you want one, and read the all-in fare before you pay. The chauffeur is told your flight number and your check-in plans in a note with the booking.
About the lodge and where it sits
Port Cunnington Lodge describes itself as a Lake of Bays resort that has welcomed guests for more than 120 years, with a mix of historic Muskoka charm and modern comfort. Its postal address is Dwight, the small community at the north end of the lake where Highway 35 meets Highway 60 and where the Township of Lake of Bays has its office. The lodge's site lists lodging, a resort map, cottage amenities, lakeside dining, a family room for dining and activity packages. It also offers space for weddings, corporate retreats and social groups.
Regional listings describe the lodge as facing Bigwin Island, the once-famous island resort site on Lake of Bays. The island's old inn is long gone, and today the island is home to a private golf club. Port Cunnington packages golf at that club for guests, and fishing and romantic-getaway packages also appear on the lodge's own site. The lodge's website does not publish season dates, check-in times or dock details in the pages we reviewed, so confirm those with the lodge when you book your stay; the times on your lodge reservation are what we use to set your pickup.

When a private car is the better choice, and when it is not
If you are one traveller with a rucksack and the coach stops in Huntsville, the bus plus a short cab is a perfectly reasonable way to get to the lodge. If you plan to explore for a week, a rental car is more useful than a chauffeur who leaves after drop-off.
A booked car is the better choice when:
- Three or more of you are travelling with cottage-sized luggage.
- Your flight lands late and the last coach has gone.
- You are travelling with children who need a child, toddler or booster seat.
- You are heading to a wedding, retreat or dinner with a fixed start time.
- You want the same chauffeur and car on the way back.
Nothing about that distance is quick, so be honest about the cost of the alternative: a missed connection in Huntsville adds an hour or two of waiting, which a booked car avoids.
Arrival day: check-in, luggage and the final stretch
Port Cunnington Road is a local road close to the lake. The chauffeur drives you to the lodge's own arrival point, so there is no walk from a road end. Your confirmation carries the pickup time and the lodge name, and the booker lets you add a note with the booking, such as "heading to cottage 4" or "please drop us at reception".
Plan the day like this:
- Check the lodge's check-in time on your reservation and give us a landing time that works with it.
- Allow for a food stop. Dwight is small; Huntsville is the last large grocery and liquor stop before the lodge. Add it as an extra stop in the booker.
- Tell us about extras. Child seats are a booker option; tell the desk about a pet in a carrier or a trained service animal (travelling free), and ask the desk to keep your details private.
- Choose meet and greet if you land at Pearson and want the chauffeur waiting inside arrivals with a name board; alias names are available on request.
Non-airport pickups include 15 minutes of free waiting. Airport pickups are flight-tracked, with 60 minutes free waiting after international landings and 30 after domestic.
Dining and events at the lodge
The lodge's website lists Lakeside Dining and Family Room Dining reservations, plus a membership card for returning guests, and a calendar of events. For Thanksgiving 2026 the Discover Muskoka guide lists a Friday barbecue buffet at the lodge, and buffets on the Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend, with a complimentary breakfast for lodge guests from Saturday to Monday. Treat those as 2026 details and confirm the current programme with the lodge.
One piece of recent history is useful if you have seen it mentioned elsewhere: the heritage vessel S.S. Bigwin used to run dinner cruises across the lake to Port Cunnington. The ship's own website says she is ashore for 2026 with bookings paused, so there is no cruise to rely on this season. Your options are the lodge's own dining, or a short drive to Dorset or Baysville.
Golf, fishing and the water
Package themes on the lodge's own site include an Ultimate Golf Experience at Bigwin Island Golf Club, an Angler's Fishing Adventure and a Romantic Getaway. Bigwin Island Golf Club is private, and island access is by boat only, from docks at Norway Point; reservations for island access are mandatory. If a golf day is part of your stay, send your tee time to us when you book and we will sit the car around it.
On the lake itself, guests can hike, paddle and swim, according to the lodge. Dwight Beach is the one public beach named in Discover Muskoka's Lake of Bays listings, and the Township of Lake of Bays lists beaches and boat launches on its site.
Weddings, retreats and group transfers
The lodge hosts weddings, corporate retreats and social groups. Moving a group of this size across 250 km is where a vehicle plan matters most:
- A Executive Sprinter takes up to 12 passengers and 12 bags.
- A Jet Sprinter Executive takes up to 7 passengers and 5 bags for a small executive group.
- Several Business SUVs are better than one oversized vehicle when guests arrive on different flights.
- A Stretch Limousine or Party Bus is an option for the wedding day itself, but neither takes much luggage, and availability is confirmed at booking.
Coaches from 20 to 56 seats are available on request. For wedding logistics see our wedding transportation planning guide, and for retreats our corporate retreat transportation page.
What is nearby: fifteen minutes from the lodge
Guests with a free afternoon have several options without a long drive:
- Dwight has a village bakery that Discover Muskoka recommends and the Township of Lake of Bays office.
- Oxtongue River–Ragged Falls is about a 1 km walk from the parking area, according to Discover Muskoka. Dwight to Oxtongue Lake is roughly 10 km.
- Algonquin Park begins just east of there. As of 2026, the Highway 60 corridor day permit is $21.00 per vehicle per day, bought online or by phone, up to five days ahead and not sold at the gate. See the Algonquin Park tours page.
- Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve has the Solitaire Trail.
- Dorset and its lookout tower are 19 km from Dwight; see the Dorset page for the 2026 reservation rules.
For a day of stops with the car waiting, the hourly chauffeur page explains how booking by the hour works.
Vehicles, extras and how booking works
Every vehicle is "or similar", with the model confirmed at booking; see the fleet page. The booker gives a single fixed total with 13% HST included. Cancellation is counted from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%. Peak dates, such as long weekends, may carry a different deadline, which your confirmation prints.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Port Cunnington Lodge from Toronto Pearson?
About 253 km by road, usually 3 h 20 to 3 h 40 off-peak. On a summer Friday or Thanksgiving Friday, allow about 4 h 30. The route follows Highway 400 and Highway 11 to Huntsville, then Highway 60 east to Dwight.
Is there a bus to Port Cunnington Lodge?
No scheduled service reaches the lodge. Ontario Northland coaches serve Huntsville, about 33 km away, so a coach plus a car for the last leg is possible. Many guests prefer one booked car for the whole trip to avoid a connection.
Can you pick me up at Muskoka Airport for the lodge?
Yes. Muskoka Airport in Gravenhurst is about 78 km from the lodge, roughly 1 h 10 by road. We track your flight and give 30 minutes of free waiting after domestic landings, 60 after international. See the Muskoka Airport page.
What does it cost to get a limo to Port Cunnington Lodge?
The booker shows one fixed all-in fare for your pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay. Taxes and fees are in the total; nothing is added at the end of the trip.
Can the car wait while I check in or take me to dinner?
Non-airport pickups include 15 minutes of free waiting. For longer waits, or evenings out, use the hourly mode or add a return trip to the same booking so the driver is ready at the time you choose.
Do you take golfers to Bigwin Island?
We can take you to the Norway Point docks used for island access, and collect you afterwards. The golf club is private and requires reservations for island access, so confirm your tee time and boat time with the club first.
Can I bring children and a pet?
Child, toddler and booster seats are booker options. Tell the desk about a pet when you book; pets travel in a carrier, and trained service animals travel free. Check the lodge's own pet policy before you book your stay.
Is the lodge open year-round?
The lodge's website does not state season dates in the pages we reviewed, so ask the lodge directly. Its calendar of events and its packages change through the year.
