What party bus and stretch limo options are there in Muskoka?
MuskokaLimousineServices.com offers three: a Party Bus for up to 14 passengers, a Stretch Limousine for up to 8, and a Stretch SUV Limousine for up to 14. Luggage space is small: minimal in the Stretch Limousine, 4 large bags in the Stretch SUV Limousine and 2 in the Party Bus. Availability is confirmed at booking, and the booker shows one fixed, all-in fare before you pay, with HST included.
Muskoka is a place where you take a party bus to a dinner, not to a club. The nights out tend to be a bachelorette dinner in Bracebridge, a milestone birthday with a lake view, a wedding party moving between two venues, or a trip to Casino Rama, which is open around the clock. In each case the question is the same: how do you get ten people there and back without anyone driving? A party bus or a stretch limousine answers it, and this page explains which one fits and where the limits are.
Which party bus or stretch limo for which party
| Vehicle | Passengers | Bags | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stretch Limousine | up to 8 | minimal luggage | Smaller bachelorette or stag groups, anniversaries, a bridal party |
| Party Bus | up to 14 | 2 large | Group nights out, multi-stop evenings |
| Stretch SUV Limousine | up to 14 | 4 large | A group of up to 14 who want an SUV-style stretch with room for four large bags |
| Executive Sprinter (for comparison) | up to 12 | 12 | Groups that arrive with bags |
All of these are offered "or similar", and the exact vehicle is confirmed at booking. For a wedding party that wants a Mercedes-Maybach for the couple, or a Rolls-Royce on request, the luxury Maybach and Rolls-Royce page covers that, and the Muskoka wedding limo page puts the whole day together.
Why none of them carries luggage
It surprises people the first time: a party bus or a stretch limousine has very little room for bags: a Party Bus takes 2 large bags, a Stretch SUV Limousine 4, and a Stretch Limousine minimal luggage. In practice that rarely matters for a night out, but it matters a great deal for a weekend. A bachelorette group arriving at Pearson with ten suitcases needs an Executive Sprinter or SUVs from the airport to the cottage. The party bus comes later, from the cottage to the dinner and back.
That two-vehicle pattern is the norm: a luggage vehicle for arrival and departure, a party vehicle for the evening. It also means the airport run is on a vehicle with flight tracking and free waiting, as described on the Pearson page. The Sprinter and group page covers the bag arithmetic for the arrival.
A note on alcohol
We do not supply alcohol, and there is no drinking in our vehicles (a bottle can still be added in the booker as a sealed gift). Ontario's liquor rules are administered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which oversees the sale, service and delivery of liquor in the province, and its alcohol pages are the place to start if your plans depend on a drink in a vehicle. We could not find a clear AGCO statement about limousines and party buses, so we do not summarise one here.
If that detail matters to your evening, call or write to the reservations desk before you book, and plan the night on the assumption that the drinks happen at the venue, not in transit. The chauffeur's job is to get everyone there and home safely, which is the best reason to book a vehicle in the first place.
Casino Rama: the most requested night out
Casino Rama Resort is at 5899 Rama Road, Rama, on the Rama First Nation near Orillia, and its own site says it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Visitors must be 19 or older and show valid government-issued photo ID to enter the Entertainment Centre and the gaming floor, and those 21 or younger must show a second piece of identification. See the resort's site for shows and current details.
Here is how far it is from the places people leave, by road, with typical off-peak times:
| From | Road distance to Casino Rama | Typical off-peak | Friday or Saturday evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gravenhurst | about 35 km | about 40 min | allow 55 min |
| Bracebridge | about 50 km | about 55 min | allow 1 h 10 |
| Huntsville | about 95 km | about 1 h 30 | allow 1 h 50 |
| Toronto Pearson | about 140 km | about 1 h 55 | allow 2 h 45 |
The distance from Gravenhurst is short enough that a party bus makes it a pleasant half-hour. From Huntsville it is long enough that you want the right vehicle and a clear return time. Casino Rama sells group packages through its own sales team and its website states that it does not manage transportation or pickup locations for groups, so the vehicle and the pickup times are yours to arrange. We handle them. Book the outbound leg, the return and any stops on one booking, and use a note with the booking to confirm the return time or an open-ended wait.
Our Muskoka taxi alternative page explains why a pre-booked vehicle beats trying to find a ride home at closing time in a small place.
Bachelorette, stag and birthday weekends
Weekend parties follow a pattern in Muskoka, and the transport fits it.
- Friday arrival. The group lands at Pearson or drives to the cottage. A Sprinter or SUVs handle bags.
- Saturday afternoon. A boat cruise, a tasting, a spa or a round of golf. See the brewery and winery tours page for a tasting day with a chauffeur, and the Muskoka Steamships page for a cruise.
- Saturday night. The party bus or stretch limousine takes the group from cottage to dinner, and then to a second venue if there is one.
- Sunday departure. The luggage vehicle again, to the airport or home.
Plan in hourly blocks. Hourly hire is a booker mode, and a Saturday night with two stops and a return is easier to run by the hour than as three separate bookings. The hourly chauffeur page explains how to pick.
How many people to book for
The seat counts are firm limits, so count the whole party, including the person who always says they might come. A party of eight fits a stretch limousine. Nine to fourteen fit a party bus or a Stretch SUV Limousine. More than 14 is two vehicles or a coach on request; coaches with 20 to 56 seats are available, and a note with the booking is where you tell us what you need.
When the group is mixed, with some guests needing a ride home early, two vehicles often work better than a single large one. A stretch sedan for the couple and close friends, a party bus for the rest, both leaving from the same address, keeps the party together without trapping anyone.
A sample Saturday, with the distances
Here is how a bachelorette or birthday evening around Gravenhurst and Bracebridge fits together. Times are illustrative; the distances are rounded from a route planner.
- 5:30 pm, cottage on Lake Muskoka. The party bus arrives. The group is dressed and counted, and the chauffeur has the plan from the note in the booking.
- 6:00 pm, dinner in Bracebridge. About 18 km from Gravenhurst, roughly 20 minutes. The vehicle waits, or leaves and returns at an agreed time. Waiting is built into hourly hire, so say which you prefer.
- 9:00 pm, second venue. A show, a lakeside bar or the road to Casino Rama, about 50 km and under an hour from Bracebridge. Decide this before the evening, because the longer leg shapes the return time.
- 12:30 am, the way home. The return is the part that decides whether the night ends well. A pre-arranged vehicle is waiting at the door when the party is ready to leave.
If you would like the evening to include a spa or a tasting earlier in the day, add it as a separate daytime booking with a smaller vehicle, not as one very long party-bus hire.
Birthdays, anniversaries and quiet celebrations
Not every party is loud. A stretch limousine for eight suits an anniversary dinner with friends, a milestone birthday, or a retirement dinner where the guests are older and the main requirement is that nobody has to park. A stretch sedan is also a graceful way to move a wedding party from the ceremony to the photographs: the bridal party fits in a sedan for 8, and the rest of the guests follow in a Sprinter.
Smaller celebrations of two or three people rarely need a stretch at all. An Executive Sedan carries three and a Mercedes E / S-Class carries two, and the executive car service page describes both. The right vehicle is the smallest that suits the occasion, not the largest that is available.
Off-season nights
Muskoka does not shut down in winter. Dinners, weddings and Casino Rama keep going, and a pre-arranged vehicle with a chauffeur who drives these roads every week is worth more on a dark February night than on a July evening. Check Ontario's 511 service for closures and winter road conditions before you go, and read our winter and ski transfers page for how we handle snow. Availability is confirmed at booking in every season.
Party vehicles compared with the alternatives
| Mode | Door-to-door, Gravenhurst to Casino Rama | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Party Bus or stretch limo | About 40 min | Fixed fare via booker | Very little | Groups of 8 to 14 |
| Executive Sprinter | About 40 min | Fixed fare via booker | Up to 12 bags | Groups with bags |
| Local taxi, several cars | About 40 min | Metered | A few bags per car | A group of 2 to 4 |
| Corridor 11 local bus | Town to town, weekdays only | Cash fares posted by the District | No luggage policy stated | Daytime hops, not nights out |
| Self-drive | About 40 min | Fuel and parking | Your boot | Nobody wants to be the driver |
A taxi seats few people, so a group of 12 means three or four cars, each dispatched separately, and the return from a rural venue is the least certain leg of the evening. The District of Muskoka's Corridor 11 bus runs Monday to Friday and excludes statutory holidays, so it is not a night-out option.
A local taxi is perfectly fine for two people going five minutes into town. The bus is the better choice for one person going between towns on a weekday. The private vehicle wins at three or more, when the return is late, when you want the group together and when you do not want anyone to drive.
Booking a Muskoka party bus in summer
Summer Fridays and Saturdays, long weekends and big wedding dates are the busiest. Because party vehicles are a limited part of the fleet, availability is confirmed at booking. Enter your pickup, the stops, the hours and the head count in the booker, and one fixed, all-in fare appears before payment, with HST included and nothing added at the end of the trip.
Peak dates may carry a different cancellation deadline, printed on your confirmation. The standard rule, counted from the scheduled pickup, is: more than 72 hours' notice carries no charge; 72 hours or less 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a party bus in Muskoka?
Yes. Our Party Bus carries up to 14 passengers and 2 large bags. Availability is confirmed at booking. For a similar head count with more luggage room there is a Stretch SUV Limousine for up to 14 and 4 large bags, and for larger groups coaches with 20 to 56 seats are available on request.
How many people fit in a stretch limo?
A Stretch Limousine carries up to 8 passengers, and a Stretch SUV Limousine carries up to 14. Neither has room for much luggage (the Stretch SUV Limousine takes 4 large bags), so if your group arrives with bags, use an Executive Sprinter or SUVs for the airport legs and keep the stretch for the evening.
Can we drink in the limo or party bus?
We do not supply alcohol and do not promise it on board. Ontario's liquor rules are set provincially and overseen by the AGCO; its alcohol pages are the place to check. Ask the reservations desk before booking if this matters to your plans.
Do you take people to Casino Rama?
Yes. Casino Rama Resort, at 5899 Rama Road, is about 35 km from Gravenhurst and about 50 km from Bracebridge. It is open 24 hours a day, and guests must be 19 or older with valid photo ID. Book the outbound and return on one booking.
How much does a party bus cost in Muskoka?
This site shows no rates. Enter your pickup, stops, hours and head count in the booker and it returns one fixed, all-in total before you pay, with HST included.
Can a party bus take luggage from the airport?
Not much. A Party Bus takes 2 large bags and stretch limousines even less. Use an Executive Sprinter, which takes 12 passengers and 12 bags, or SUVs for the airport runs, and keep the party bus for the evening, when the group is dressed and the bags are already at the cottage.
How early should I book a party bus for a summer Saturday?
As soon as the date is firm. Summer Saturdays, long weekends and big wedding dates are the busiest, and availability is confirmed at booking. Peak dates may also carry a different cancellation deadline, printed on your confirmation, so check it before you share the plan with the group.
Can the party bus wait while we are at the venue?
Yes. Use hourly hire, or add stops with waiting time to one booking, and tell the chauffeur the return time in a note with the booking. Hourly mode suits a night with two venues and an open-ended finish, because the vehicle stays with the group instead of leaving and coming back.
