16 Muskoka towns · 20 airports

Cottage, resort and airport cars from Gravenhurst to Dorset and Parry Sound, to Pearson, Billy Bishop, Muskoka Airport and every major airport in Ontario; fly-in arrivals from the rest of Canada met through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network.

Most of Muskoka is reached by turning off Highway 400 onto Highway 11. Honey Harbour and Port Severn are the exceptions: they sit on the Georgian Bay side, on Highway 400 itself, and they open onto a different kind of cottage country, with granite points, narrow channels and islands you reach by boat. MuskokaLimousineServices.com books chauffeured cars to the Honey Harbour port, Georgian Bay marinas, the Port Severn lock and cottage roads nearby, with the fixed fare shown before you pay.

Is there a Honey Harbour or Port Severn limo and car service?

Yes. MuskokaLimousineServices.com sends pre-booked chauffeured cars to Honey Harbour, Port Severn and the Georgian Bay shore. Honey Harbour is about 166 km from Toronto, reached from Highway 400 exit 156 onto Honey Harbour Road (Muskoka Road 5), roughly two hours off-peak.

The distance and the exit come from Parks Canada, which describes Georgian Bay Islands National Park as about 166 km from Toronto, near Honey Harbour, and sends visitors to the mainland via exit 156 off Highway 400. That makes it one of the shorter trips on our network, because you never leave Highway 400.

Why this is a Highway 400 trip

For Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville you keep left after the Duckworth exit north of Barrie and take Highway 11. For Honey Harbour, Port Severn and the park you keep right and stay on Highway 400 toward Parry Sound. Discover Muskoka's driving directions put Georgian Bay Township, Honey Harbour, Port Severn and Georgian Bay Islands National Park on that right-hand fork.

Practical consequences follow. The Friday-afternoon crush on Highway 11 around Orillia is not your problem, though Highway 400 north of Barrie has its own summer build-up. Ontario 511 shows incidents, roadwork and cameras, and our cottage traffic guide covers the corridor. For the Pearson end of the trip, see the flagship Toronto Pearson YYZ transfer page.

Honey Harbour: the port, the park dock and the cottage roads

Two addresses matter at Honey Harbour, and they are different places.

  1. The Port of Honey Harbour, 1 Delawana Road. Parks Canada lists this as the boarding point for day visitors travelling to Beausoleil Island on the licensed shuttle.
  2. The park's mainland location, 2611 Honey Harbour Road. Parks Canada says guests with cabin or oTENTik reservations are carried by park-provided transportation that departs from here.

Give the chauffeur the exact address from your reservation, since the two are not interchangeable. If you are meeting a water taxi, the operator will tell you the dock. Put it in a note with the booking.

The cottage roads around Honey Harbour are narrower and rougher than the Highway 11 lakes, and many properties are water-access only. For that handoff, see marina and boat launch transfers.

Georgian Bay Islands National Park: how the boat part works

The park has 63 islands and is reachable only by boat. Beausoleil Island is the only one with visitor facilities, which include docks, camping, roofed accommodations and hiking trails. Parks Canada tells visitors to plan ahead and reserve boat transportation: Landmark Cruises for day visitors, a licensed private water taxi for overnight campers, and park-provided transport for cabin and oTENTik guests.

Three facts help with timing.

  • Day visitors board at the Port of Honey Harbour, 1 Delawana Road, and the shuttle page says pets and recreational equipment such as bicycles and canoes are not permitted onboard.
  • Parks Canada's directions page describes campsites and park services running from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving. In 2026 that means Thanksgiving weekend, October 12. For 2027, Parks Canada will announce its reservation dates, so check the park page rather than assume.
  • In 2026 free admission and discounted camping applied from June 19 to September 7, with regular fees from September 8. Parks Canada's Georgian Bay Islands visit page gives the current fee structure, and we do not print amounts.

Port Severn: the Trent-Severn's northern gate

Port Severn sits on the same stretch of Georgian Bay and is the northern gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway. Parks Canada lists the lock station at 175 Port Severn Road North and describes it as the waterway's smallest lock, with large grounds for boater camping and picnicking, overnight mooring, washrooms, potable water and visitor information. It also warns boaters about the channel west of the lock where it narrows under Highway 400, and about strong currents below the lock during high flows. The Port Severn lock page has the details.

Lockstation hours change by season, and Parks Canada's 2026 schedule for September 8 to October 12 was Monday to Friday 10:00 to 15:30, and Saturday, Sunday and Thanksgiving 9:00 to 16:30. The season closes after Thanksgiving, and the next one normally opens in mid-May; in 2026 navigation opened in stages from May 15. Opening times are not guaranteed, so check before you plan a day around a lockage.

Big Chute: a short drive from Coldwater

Lock 44 is the Big Chute Marine Railway, which Parks Canada calls the only marine railway of its kind in North America, with an average lift of 17.7 metres (58 feet). The listed address is 7001 Upper Big Chute Road, Coldwater, described as a short drive from Coldwater. It has a picnic area, washrooms, potable water, camping and visitor information. It is a place to watch boats ride on rails, not a transport hub, but it is a popular half-day stop for a group already in a car. Parks Canada's Big Chute lock page has the hours link.

Ask the chauffeur to wait with the car, or hire it by the hour. Our hourly chauffeur page explains how.

Planning a day on the water around a car

A day trip to Beausoleil Island is a timetable with a boat at its centre. Parks Canada calls the shuttle visit a half-day trip and sends you to the Port of Honey Harbour, so the car's job is to put you at 1 Delawana Road with time in hand, not at the last minute. Work backwards from the shuttle departure printed on your ticket: subtract a buffer for the drop-off and the walk to the dock, then the drive, then the extra margin if it is a summer weekend.

Pack for the island, not the car. Water, sun cover, footwear for granite trails and a bag you can carry on your own are the essentials, and anything you cannot carry should stay with the chauffeur, who can keep the car for the day under an hourly booking. Bicycles and canoes are not allowed on the shuttle, so leave them at home.

Closing a cottage at the end of the season

Parks Canada's services end at Thanksgiving, and cottage owners on the Georgian Bay shore close up around the same time. A closing weekend means bedding, shut-off tools, perishable food coming south and the last load of gear from a boat. A Business SUV (6 passengers, 6 bags) or an Executive Sprinter (12 passengers, 12 bags) takes most of that; tell the booker how many bags to expect and mention any bulky items in the note. If the final leg is by boat, the car meets you at the public dock or marina, and our cottage transfers page has the arrival checklist.

Taxi or pre-booked car: the honest comparison

A local cab is fine for a short errand in Port Severn, and a car you own is the cheapest way to get a large family to the port. A pre-booked chauffeur earns its place in four situations:

  • You arrive from an airport or Union Station and need to reach a boat departure on time.
  • You carry camping gear, coolers and children. A Business SUV takes 6 passengers and 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter takes 12 and 12.
  • You do not want to leave a car at a port for several days.
  • You are meeting a water taxi on a schedule and cannot afford a late arrival.

If you do not need any of those, drive yourself. For the larger comparison, see Muskoka taxi alternative.

The neighbours: Muskoka's other gateways

Honey Harbour is a different corridor from Gravenhurst. The Washago and Severn Bridge side is on Washago and Severn. North on Highway 400, the Parry Sound side is on Parry Sound and MacTier and Georgian Bay. South, Barrie is the last big town before the fork. For Gravenhurst, see Gravenhurst. Our Muskoka hub lists every town.

Booking a Honey Harbour or Port Severn car

  1. Open the booker and enter the pickup: an airport, Union Station, a hotel or a home address.
  2. Enter the drop-off, such as 1 Delawana Road in Honey Harbour, a marina, the Port Severn lock or a cottage address.
  3. Choose a vehicle and options, including child seats if you need them. Tell the desk about a pet when you book and bring it in a carrier; a trained service animal needs no carrier and rides free.
  4. Look at the total, which is final and all-in, with 13% HST included.

All vehicles are licensed and commercially insured, and the reservations desk is open 24 hours a day. A return pickup goes on the same booking.
