16 Muskoka towns · 20 airports

Cottage, resort and airport cars from Gravenhurst to Dorset and Parry Sound, to Pearson, Billy Bishop, Muskoka Airport and every major airport in Ontario; fly-in arrivals from the rest of Canada met through the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network.

Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) sits in Breslau, beside Highway 401, and it is the easiest airport in southwestern Ontario to get in and out of. Getting from there to Muskoka is the harder half of the journey. MuskokaLimousineServices.com runs the kitchener waterloo airport to muskoka transfer as a pre-booked, chauffeured trip: the car is waiting when you land, the chauffeur knows both the western and the eastern routes to Highway 400, and the fixed fare is shown in the booker before you pay.

This page covers the flight-day side of the trip: what the airport is, what the drive involves, how to choose between the airports around it, and when the car is the sensible answer. If you are travelling from the towns themselves rather than the airport, the Muskoka to Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph route page covers that side.

How do I get from Kitchener-Waterloo Airport to Muskoka?

Book a pre-arranged car. Breslau is about 235 km from Gravenhurst, 250 km from Bracebridge and 285 km from Huntsville by road, which takes roughly 2 h 30 to 3 h 05 to Gravenhurst off-peak. There is no direct scheduled public service from the terminal to the lakes, so a transfer is the practical option.

The distances in this guide are rounded from a route-planner check in October 2026. The times add an allowance for real highway speeds, and each row has its own warning for summer weekends.

Region of Waterloo International Airport at a glance

The airport's address is 1-4881 Fountain Street North, Breslau, Ontario. It describes itself as about 45 minutes west of Toronto, alongside Highway 401, and minutes from Cambridge, Guelph, Kitchener and Waterloo. Its website lists four airline partners: Air Canada, Flair Airlines, Sunwing (operated by WestJet) and WestJet, and mentions a WestJet nonstop to Calgary plus seasonal flights to the Caribbean and Mexico. Flights and carriers change with the season, so check the airport's own site for the date you fly.

Two things follow for a Muskoka-bound passenger. First, some of the schedule is seasonal sun-destination flying, and evening arrivals are common on those routes. Second, the building is small, so the walk from the aircraft to a waiting car is short. Neither changes the length of the road north, but both change what you want from the pickup: a chauffeur already tracking the flight, and a plan that does not depend on a bus schedule.

Flight tracking is on for every airport pickup. The free waiting time after landing is 60 minutes if your flight arrives from outside Canada and 30 minutes if it is a domestic arrival. With the Meet and Greet service in the booker, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board; an alias name is available on request.

Kitchener-Waterloo Airport to Muskoka: the two ways north

The airport gives you a genuine choice of route, and that is unusual.

  1. East on Highway 401, north on Highway 400. The classic route. It passes through the western GTA before Highway 400 climbs toward Barrie. It is fastest when the 401 corridor is moving and slowest when it is not.
  2. Cross-country through Guelph and Highway 89. From Breslau the chauffeur can head for Guelph on Highway 7, work north on the Highway 6 corridor, and then cut east on Highway 89 to join Highway 400 near Cookstown. It stays out of the busiest part of the western GTA and can win on a Friday afternoon.

Both finish the same way. Highway 400 runs north to Barrie, and Highway 11 splits off there to carry you through Orillia, Washago, Gravenhurst and Bracebridge to Huntsville. Which route the chauffeur takes is decided on the day with live conditions, which is the main thing a pre-booked driver adds over a navigation app. Our Highway 400 and 11 traffic guide explains the pinch points on the shared section.

When the private car is clearly the better choice

The car wins when the details of the day stack up against public transport:

  • A late flight. After a late landing there is rarely a scheduled service left worth waiting for.
  • Three or more travellers. One vehicle and one fare, with the booker pricing the class you choose.
  • Cottage luggage. A Business SUV or Executive First Class SUV takes up to six passengers and six bags; an Executive Sprinter up to twelve with twelve bags.
  • Young children. Child seat, toddler seat and booster seat options are in the booker.
  • Resort check-in and wedding timing. The chauffeur plans from the time your flight lands to the time you need to be at the door.
  • Privacy. A note with the booking is part of the booking form, and the desk will keep your details private if you ask.

When something else is the better choice

A short hop in Kitchener or Waterloo is a job for a local taxi. We are not a street taxi: no hail, no meter. If you are alone, travelling light and have no deadline, a public journey to Muskoka is possible. It means getting to Toronto and then catching the Ontario Northland coach, which serves Washago, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville from the Union Station Bus Terminal. That is a long day from Breslau. A Northlander passenger train for the same corridor has been announced, but no launch date was confirmed when this page was written.

If your travel dates are flexible, it is also worth asking whether another airport suits the trip better. The Pearson page covers the larger airport, about 167 km from Gravenhurst. The Hamilton page covers the airport south of Hamilton. The Muskoka Airport page covers the airstrip in Gravenhurst itself.

Sun flights, winter arrivals and the road conditions

Seasonal flights to the Caribbean and Mexico mean many passengers come home to Ontario in winter, wearing the wrong clothes. If your Muskoka destination is a winter cottage or a ski weekend, check conditions before you land. Ontario 511 shows road conditions, live camera images and construction, and has a winter layer that shows whether roads are covered, partly covered or bare. It also has a Track My Plow feature. The chauffeur checks the same sources, and in poor conditions the drive will take longer than the table says.

The practical rule is to plan for the slow end of the range between December and March, and to tell the desk in a note with the booking if you are arriving at a cottage that has not been opened for the season. Cottage roads in Muskoka often have fire numbers instead of street names: small reflective signs on posts at the road, which emergency crews use as the address. Give the chauffeur the fire number and the name of the lake, and the final kilometre becomes simple.

Fixed fare, what is in it and what is not

The booker shows one total for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle class. HST is included, and nothing is added at the end of the trip. The total is fixed and all-inclusive. Fares are not printed on the page, because a Breslau to Gravenhurst trip and a Breslau to Huntsville trip in a Sprinter are different jobs; the booker is the place to see the exact figure.

Models are "or similar" and are confirmed at booking. The Mercedes-Maybach, stretch limousine and party bus are in the booker, while Rolls-Royce is on request through the reservations desk, with availability confirmed in writing; stretch limousines carry minimal luggage and party buses two large bags, so they are not suited to an airport pickup with bags. The fleet page shows the full line-up.

Heading home: Muskoka to Breslau

On the return, work backwards from the departure time. Add the check-in window your airline recommends, then the drive from Gravenhurst, Bracebridge or Huntsville, then a buffer for Highway 400, and then leave a little earlier than that. A return trip and extra stops can be put on the same booking, so the cottage run to the airport can be reserved when you reserve the arrival. For other departure points around the district, see the Muskoka airport limo service page and the airport transfers hub.

Groups, corporate travellers and accounts

Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing are available, and the desk handles multi-stop and return trips on one booking. A company flying a team into Waterloo Region for a meeting and then on to a retreat in Muskoka can have the pickup, the in-between stop and the northbound leg on a single reservation. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are available on request. For event dates and wider planning, the Muskoka hub and the corporate and cottage services are the best next stops.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Kitchener-Waterloo Airport from Muskoka?

Region of Waterloo International Airport is about 235 km by road from Gravenhurst, 251 km from Bracebridge and 286 km from Huntsville. Off-peak that means roughly 2 h 30 to 3 h 40 depending on the town. On a summer Friday or a holiday Monday, add an hour or more.

Is there a direct bus from Waterloo Airport to Muskoka?

We know of no direct scheduled bus from the airport to Muskoka. A public trip means reaching Toronto first and then riding the Ontario Northland coach from the Union Station Bus Terminal to Gravenhurst, Bracebridge or Huntsville. For most passengers a pre-booked car is simpler.

Can the chauffeur track my flight to Breslau?

Yes. Flight tracking is on for every airport pickup, so a delayed aircraft moves the pickup with it. You get 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one. Add the flight number when you book.

Which route does the car take from YKF?

The chauffeur chooses on the day. One option is Highway 401 east and Highway 400 north; the other crosses country through Guelph and Highway 89 to join Highway 400 near Cookstown. Both end on Highway 11 for Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville.

How much is a limo from Waterloo Airport to Muskoka?

The booker shows a fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay. The total includes HST, and nothing is added at the end of the trip. Fares are not printed on the page; the town and the vehicle class change them, so the booker is the reliable source.

Can I bring a dog or a child seat?

Tell the desk about a pet when you book; pets travel in a carrier, and trained service animals travel free. Child seat, toddler seat and booster seat options are in the booker. Mention both in a note with the booking so the right vehicle class is assigned and the seat is fitted before the pickup.

Should I fly into Waterloo or Pearson for Muskoka?

Pearson is closer, about 167 km from Gravenhurst against 235 km from Breslau, and has far more flights. Waterloo is the better choice when your airline serves it and you live in or near Waterloo Region. Compare the flights first, then the drive.

Can I book a car for several stops on the way?

Yes. Put several stops and a return leg on one booking; hourly hire is a booker mode as well. A pickup at Breslau, a stop for groceries or a family member, and a drop at a cottage can all be reserved together with one fixed fare.
