Deerhurst is the largest resort name in Muskoka and the most searched one by a distance, which means that most people who arrive here have never driven the last few kilometres. MuskokaLimousineServices.com does this run often: Pearson to Highway 400, Highway 11 to Huntsville, Highway 60 east and then Deerhurst Drive to the lakeside front of the property. This page explains the resort in practical terms, how long the drive takes, how groups and weddings arrive, and when to pick the bus or your own car instead.
How do I get to Deerhurst Resort from Pearson Airport?
Deerhurst Resort is about 225 km from Pearson, normally 2 h 30 to 2 h 50 off-peak. Take Highway 400 north, Highway 11 to Huntsville, Highway 60 east and then Deerhurst Drive. Book a chauffeur car and the booker shows one fixed fare to the resort address before you pay.
The resort's own website describes the property as about 245 km from Toronto, a figure that depends on where you start and how you count. Route planners disagree by a few kilometres. What you need to plan around is time, which is roughly two and a half hours without traffic and as much as four on a summer Friday. The booker uses your exact pickup and shows the distance it applied.

What the arrival looks like
Deerhurst is a large campus, and "arriving at Deerhurst" can mean four different doors. A guest in a lodge room, a suite in Summit Lodge, a resort home on the property and a conference delegate headed to the ballroom may all need different drop-off points. Two simple habits solve this. First, put your building or home name in a note with the booking, from your confirmation. Second, if you are booked into a resort home, include the home number or street so the car does not stop at the main entrance by default.
Luggage is the second variable. Resort homes mean groceries and gear, and the Business SUV (up to 6 passengers, 6 bags) or the Executive Sprinter (up to 12 passengers, 12 bags) are the cars that take them. A pair in a lodge room with two bags fits in a Mercedes E / S-Class (up to 2 passengers and 2 bags) or an Executive Sedan (up to 3 passengers and 2 large bags).
How to get to Deerhurst: every option
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drive yourself | 2 h 30 – 2 h 50 off-peak | fuel and parking | whatever fits | people who want a car on site |
| Ontario Northland or FlixBus to Huntsville, then a local ride | about 3 h to town plus 10 minutes | public fare as listed by each carrier, plus metered local ride | one checked bag each | solo guests on fixed schedules |
| Northlander train (planned) | proposed 3 h 05 to Huntsville | not yet published | not yet published | later in the season, once service starts |
| Fly to Muskoka Airport, then a car | flight plus about 1 h | fixed fare via booker for the car | airline limits | when an airline schedule suits you |
| Pre-booked MuskokaLimousineServices.com car | 2 h 30 – 2 h 50 off-peak | fixed fare via booker | 2 to 12 bags by class | groups, late flights, resort arrival times |
The bus is a real option for one person with one bag who is happy to take a local ride the last 7 km. Ontario Northland's Northlander page still describes the train as returning later this year, with no confirmed launch date as of October 2026. For groups of three or more, for anyone with kids or golf clubs, and for anyone whose flight lands after the last coach, the private car is simply easier.
Weddings at Deerhurst
Deerhurst lists wedding services, and a wedding weekend is where transport planning pays off. Typical needs are a bridal party car to the ceremony, a shuttle between two lodges, guest arrivals spread across a Friday afternoon, and a late-night return to a hotel in Huntsville. A Stretch Limousine takes up to 8 with minimal luggage and a Stretch SUV Limousine up to 14 with 4 large bags, so guests with more bags arrive in an SUV or Sprinter first. Mercedes-Maybach availability is confirmed at booking, Rolls-Royce is on request through the reservations desk, with availability confirmed in writing, and the party bus (up to 14, 2 large bags) is the option for a group night out. Look at the Muskoka wedding limo page and the wedding transportation planning guide for a timeline, and tell us about peak-date cancellation deadlines early because big weddings may carry a different deadline printed on the confirmation.
Conferences and corporate retreats
Forty thousand square feet of function space means group arrivals rather than single cars. The pattern we recommend is simple: stagger the vehicle arrivals in waves tied to flight landings, use Sprinters for groups of up to 12, and use SUVs for executives who prefer to travel apart. Coaches of 20 to 56 seats are available on request for large delegations. Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing, multi-stop trips and return legs on one booking are supported, and the corporate retreat page explains the staging in more depth. A VIP security guard can be added in the booker, and we also work alongside a client's own security team; our chauffeurs are not security officers.
Golf at Deerhurst
According to the resort's golf page, Deerhurst Highlands is a par 72 of 7,011 yards and Deerhurst Lakeside is a nine-hole par 32 of 2,339 yards. Both courses are open from early May until mid-October, with exact dates not published on the page. If you arrive with clubs, say so when booking, because golf bags eat space quickly. A Business SUV or Executive Sprinter is the safer choice for a foursome. Our golf transportation page explains how multi-course trips work.
Winter at Deerhurst
Deerhurst lists winter activities and sits beside the Hidden Valley Highlands ski hill. Hidden Valley Highlands usually opens in mid-December and runs to March Break, according to Discover Muskoka, and the hill's own 2026-27 opening date had not been announced when we looked. The practical advice for a winter arrival is to leave extra time, check Ontario 511 for road conditions, and read our winter and ski transfers page for ski bags and weather delays. A chauffeur car with winter tires makes more sense than a rental for first-time winter drivers.
What is on at Deerhurst this season
The resort's own site lists three dated events for the rest of 2026: a Muskoka Thanksgiving weekend from October 9 to 12, an Uncorked weekend from November 20 to 22 and a Holiday Concert Party on December 5. Discover Muskoka also lists the Elvis & Co Music Festival at Deerhurst. For events with a published date, we recommend booking your car as soon as your room is confirmed. For anything without a published 2027 date, the honest answer is that it is usually announced months ahead and we do not guess.
Dinner in Huntsville, then back
Plenty of guests stay at Deerhurst and dine in town on Main Street, about 7 km away. A local taxi is a reasonable way to cover that distance in the evening, and we do not pretend otherwise. A pre-booked return makes sense when the group is large, when the last return is late or when there is a show at the Algonquin Theatre. For a group dinner, the booker's multi-stop and return options let one reservation cover the outbound and the return.
Heading home: leave-by times for Pearson
Departure days are where guests get caught, because Highway 11 southbound is slow on Sunday afternoons and holiday Mondays. This is our rule of thumb for leaving Deerhurst, not an airline requirement.
| Flight type | Leave Deerhurst this long before departure | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic, weekday | about 5 h | 2 h 30 – 2 h 50 drive plus 2 h at the airport |
| Domestic, summer Friday or Sunday | about 6 h | add up to 1 h 30 for traffic |
| International | about 6 h to 7 h | longer check-in and border steps |
Your chauffeur confirms the time with you before the day. If you are changing a flight, tell the desk, because cancellation is counted from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice no charge, 72 hours or less 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%.

Frequently asked questions
Does Deerhurst Resort have an airport shuttle?
The resort pages we read do not list an airport shuttle, so ask Deerhurst directly before assuming one exists. MuskokaLimousineServices.com offers a pre-booked car from Pearson, Billy Bishop or Muskoka Airport to the resort address, with a fixed fare shown in the booker before you pay.
How far is Deerhurst Resort from Toronto Pearson?
About 225 km by our reckoning, normally 2 h 30 to 2 h 50 off-peak. The resort's own site quotes 245 km from Toronto, and the difference is down to where the measuring starts. Allow up to 4 h on a summer Friday afternoon.
What is the address of Deerhurst Resort?
1235 Deerhurst Drive, Huntsville, Ontario, on Peninsula Lake. From Highway 11, take Highway 60 east at Huntsville and follow signs to Deerhurst Drive. Give the exact lodge, home or conference room to the chauffeur at booking so the car goes to the right door.
Is there a bus to Deerhurst?
There is no bus to the resort door. Ontario Northland and FlixBus both stop in Huntsville, about 7 km away, and you would take a local ride from there. FlixBus lists a quickest Toronto to Huntsville trip of 3 h 05. The private car goes door to door.
Can you take a wedding party to Deerhurst?
Yes. We handle bridal-party cars, guest arrivals, shuttles between venues and late returns. Stretch limousines and party buses take little luggage, so guests with bags arrive in SUVs or Sprinters. Availability for stretch and Mercedes-Maybach is confirmed at booking; Rolls-Royce is on request through the reservations desk, with availability confirmed in writing.
Can you bring golf clubs?
Yes, as long as the vehicle has room. Tell us about the clubs at booking. A Business SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags, and an Executive Sprinter takes up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. Stretch limousines and the party bus take little luggage, so they are not the choice for clubs.
Do you take ski gear to Hidden Valley Highlands?
Yes. The ski hill sits next to Deerhurst. Usually it opens mid-December and runs to March Break. Add ski gear in a note with the booking and choose an SUV or Sprinter. Check the hill's own channels for its 2026-27 opening date.
How early should I book a car for Thanksgiving or a summer weekend?
As soon as your room and flight are confirmed. Peak dates, such as long weekends and big weddings, may carry a different cancellation deadline printed on your confirmation. The booker displays the fixed fare before payment, so you can reserve the car without waiting for a quote.
