A Muskoka resort stay starts and ends with the same logistical problem: the nearest big airport is between 150 and 230 km away, the resort entrance is on a lake road, and the last stretch has no transit at all. MuskokaLimousineServices.com is a pre-booked chauffeur service for Muskoka and all of Ontario. This hub lists every resort we have a page for, grouped by lake, with the distance from Toronto Pearson and a link to the full arrival guide for each.
Which Muskoka resorts can I book a transfer to?
All of the main Muskoka resorts: fourteen properties on Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, Lake Joseph, Peninsula Lake, Lake of Bays and Sparrow Lake, from about 150 km to 230 km from Pearson. Each page below gives the lake, the town and the drive time.
Resorts change brand, ownership and season more often than the lakes do. Each page on this site records what we could confirm from the resort's own site, and you should check opening dates and check-in times directly with the property before you travel. We do not guess.
What is the distance from Pearson to each resort?
Distances are road distances from a routing tool, rounded to the nearest 5 km, and starting from Toronto Pearson. Off-peak drive times assume light traffic; add 1 to 1 h 30 for a summer Friday afternoon.
| Resort | Lake | Town | From Pearson | Typical off-peak drive |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Residence Inn Gravenhurst Muskoka Wharf | Lake Muskoka | Gravenhurst | about 165 km | 1 h 50 to 2 h 15 |
| Taboo Muskoka | Lake Muskoka | Gravenhurst | about 170 km | 1 h 50 to 2 h 20 |
| Muskoka Bay Resort | Muskoka Bay | Gravenhurst | about 170 km | 1 h 50 to 2 h 20 |
| Inn at the Falls | Muskoka River | Bracebridge | about 185 km | 2 h to 2 h 25 |
| Touchstone Resort | Lake Muskoka | Bracebridge area | about 200 km | 2 h 15 to 2 h 45 |
| Deerhurst Resort | Peninsula Lake | Huntsville | about 220 km | 2 h 20 to 2 h 50 |
| Hidden Valley Resort | Peninsula Lake | Huntsville | about 225 km | 2 h 20 to 2 h 55 |
| Port Cunnington Lodge | Lake of Bays | Dwight | about 220 km | 2 h 30 to 3 h |
| JW Marriott The Rosseau | Lake Rosseau | Minett | about 225 km | 2 h 35 to 3 h 10 |
| Clevelands House | Lake Rosseau | Minett | about 225 km | 2 h 35 to 3 h 10 |
| Windermere House | Lake Rosseau | Windermere | about 230 km | 2 h 40 to 3 h 10 |
| Sherwood Inn | Lake Joseph | Minett | about 230 km | 2 h 40 to 3 h 15 |
| Rocky Crest Resort | Lake Joseph | MacTier | about 200 km | 2 h 15 to 2 h 45 |
| Bayview Wildwood Resort | Sparrow Lake | Severn Bridge | about 150 km | 1 h 30 to 1 h 50 |
A note on the table: the Sherwood Inn row is a distance only. Its own website listed a placeholder page when we looked, so confirm its operating status with the property before planning anything around it. For the full map of the three big lakes and the roads that reach each shore, read the Big Three lakes guide.
What do the resorts around Gravenhurst look like on arrival?
Gravenhurst is the first Highway 11 town and the shortest transfer in the district. Three stays sit within a few kilometres of each other:
- The Residence Inn at Muskoka Wharf, at 285 Steamship Bay Road, is the lakefront hotel beside the steamship dock, with suite kitchens and a walkable boardwalk.
- Taboo Muskoka, at 1209 Muskoka Beach Road, is a boutique resort with golf on Lake Muskoka. It was formerly known as Muskoka Sands, so older directions and maps may still use that name.
- Muskoka Bay Resort is the golf-led option; the Residence Inn's own page puts its golf club about five minutes from the hotel.
Pair this with the Gravenhurst town page and the shortest flight option, Muskoka Airport at Gravenhurst, which is about 9 km from the Wharf.
And around Bracebridge and Huntsville?
The Inn at the Falls is a historic inn at 8 Mahaffy Court in downtown Bracebridge, beside the Muskoka River and the falls. Touchstone Resort lists 1869 Muskoka Road 118 West and a lakefront on Lake Muskoka, between Bracebridge and Port Carling.
Further north, Huntsville has two resorts on Peninsula Lake. Deerhurst Resort lists 1235 Deerhurst Drive on its own site and describes itself as a year-round resort about two hours north of Toronto with two golf courses; Hidden Valley Resort is at 1755 Valley Road. Both are covered by the Huntsville town page and the Toronto to Huntsville route. East of Huntsville, Port Cunnington Lodge at 1679 Port Cunnington Road on Lake of Bays has welcomed guests for more than 120 years, according to its own site, and links to the Baysville and Lake of Bays and Dorset pages.
And on Lake Rosseau and Lake Joseph?
This is the old grand-hotel shoreline, and the longest transfer from Pearson. Windermere House at 2508 Windermere Road calls itself the "Lady of the Lake" and, per its website, has operated since 1870. In Minett, JW Marriott The Rosseau is at 1050 Paignton House Road and Clevelands House at 1185 Juddhaven Road. Lake Joseph has Rocky Crest Resort at 20 Barnwood Drive, MacTier, and the Sherwood Inn listed under Minett. The Rosseau and Minett stays share the Rosseau and Minett page; MacTier and the Georgian Bay shore have their own, MacTier and Georgian Bay.
South of all of these, Bayview Wildwood Resort at 1500 Port Stanton Parkway, Severn Bridge, is on Sparrow Lake rather than on the Muskoka lakes themselves, which makes it the closest of the group to Toronto.
How does a private car compare with the bus, the train and a taxi for a resort stay?
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-booked private car | 1 h 30 to 3 h 15 from Pearson, by resort | Fixed fare via booker, quoted before you pay | 2 to 12 bags by class | Families, couples with golf bags, wedding parties, late arrivals |
| Ontario Northland coach | Check the schedule; add the airport-to-city leg | Public fare on the operator's site | One free checked bag, under 23 kg; two more at $15 each as of 2026 | Solo travellers with light luggage to Highway 11 towns |
| Northlander train (proposed) | About 2 h 15 to 2 h 30 to Gravenhurst or Bracebridge, longer to Huntsville | Fares not published on the operator's page | Not stated | Downtown Toronto starts, once running |
| Self-drive | Same as the car, plus parking and fuel | Rental, fuel | Whatever fits | Guests who want a car every day |
| Local taxi | Minutes within a town | Metered | A few bags | Short hops only |
The coach figures come from Ontario Northland's bus travel page, which also lists Union Station, the 407 Vaughn Terminal, GO King City Station and Yorkdale as Toronto connection points. The train row relies on its Northlander page, which says the service is not yet running and gives only a proposed timetable. Neither mode reaches a lake shore, so the last leg to a resort always needs a car.
Choose the coach or train if you are alone, light and arriving during the day. Choose the private car for three or more people, a car full of groceries, a late flight, a check-in window, a wedding schedule, or anywhere past Bracebridge.
What do resort guests usually ask for?
- Meet and greet inside arrivals. A chauffeur with a name board; an alias on request.
- Flight tracking and free waiting. 60 minutes after international landings, 30 after domestic ones.
- Child seats. Child, toddler and booster seats are booker options.
- A golf-bag friendly vehicle. A Business SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags; an Executive Sprinter takes 12 and 12. See the golf transportation service.
- Corporate retreats. Accounts with monthly invoicing and multi-stop bookings; see the corporate retreat transportation page.
- Weddings. The Muskoka wedding limo page and the wedding planning guide.
All vehicle classes are on the fleet page. Mercedes-Maybach, stretch limousines and party buses are subject to availability confirmed at booking, and Rolls-Royce is on request through the reservations desk, with availability confirmed in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Which Muskoka resort is closest to Toronto?
Of the resorts listed here, Bayview Wildwood Resort at Severn Bridge is closest at about 150 km. Among the Muskoka lakes themselves, Gravenhurst resorts are closest at about 165 to 170 km.
How long is the drive from Pearson to a Muskoka resort?
From about 1 h 30 for Sparrow Lake to 3 h 15 for the Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau shores, off-peak. A summer Friday afternoon can add an hour or more. The table above lists each one.
Is there a bus or train to the resorts?
Ontario Northland operates coaches in the Highway 11 corridor, and its proposed Northlander train lists Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville as stops. Neither reaches a lake resort directly, so you need a car for the final leg.
Can the car stop at a grocery store or the LCBO on the way?
Yes. Add the stop to your booking or write it in a note with the booking. The LCBO is Ontario's provincial liquor retailer. There is no drinking in our vehicles (a bottle can still be added in the booker as a sealed gift).
What size of vehicle do I need for a family resort stay?
A Business SUV or Executive First Class SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 6 bags. An Executive Sprinter takes up to 12 passengers and 12 bags. An Executive Sedan takes up to 3 and 2 large bags.
Do you serve resorts only, or the whole district?
The whole district and all major Ontario airports. See the Muskoka hub for towns, the airport transfers hub for airports and the routes hub for long-distance trips.
How does cancellation work?
From the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. Peak dates may use a different deadline printed on the confirmation.
What does a resort transfer cost?
Enter the resort's address, your date and the vehicle in the booker: it returns a single fixed fare, with all charges included, before you commit.
Browse everything else in the Muskoka hub, the airport transfers hub, the routes hub, the attractions hub, the guides hub and the services hub; the busiest gateway is the Toronto Pearson page.
